Professional Background

Experience shaped by education, communication, and hands-on practice

Shannon’s professional background spans massage therapy, education, writing, communication, and complementary wellness practices. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and completed graduate-level coursework in writing and communication.

Her academic and professional experience informs the way she teaches: practical, direct, grounded in real-world application, and focused on helping students communicate with greater clarity and confidence.

Shannon is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Massage Therapy Instructor, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Meditation Teacher, and TDLR-approved continuing education provider.

She founded Phoenix Continuing Education to create accessible, relevant training that supports ethical practice, professional growth, stronger client relationships, and long-term career sustainability.

Why She Created Phoenix Continuing Education

Continuing education should feel useful, relevant, and connected to real practice

Shannon created Phoenix Continuing Education after seeing how often professional training can feel disconnected from the situations massage therapists actually face. Her goal is to make continuing education practical, approachable, and immediately useful.

The courses are designed to help professionals strengthen the skills that shape everyday practice, from client communication and boundaries to confidence, marketing, and long-term sustainability.

Phoenix Continuing Education also reflects Shannon’s belief that learning should support both professional growth and the person behind the practice.

Rather than treating continuing education as a box to check, she approaches it as an opportunity to build stronger relationships, make clearer decisions, and create a more sustainable career.
